REMEMBERING YOUR LOVED ONES AT THE HOLIDAYS
We’re looking forward to a wonderful High Holiday season with dynamic worship experiences, creative alternatives to traditional worship, and lots of great food and friends. We also know that being away from home for the High Holidays can feel unfamiliar. We want all of our students to feel welcome and connected, and we believe we can do that by bringing a piece of your experience at home here to Purdue Hillel. Please use this form to add any of your loved ones to our Yartzeit List that we will read at Yizkor services and throughout the High Holidays, because your family is our family. Also, stop by Hillel anytime between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur to customize a Yahrzeit candle in memory of your loved ones.
Rabbi Leah Doberne-Schor, EdS, LPC-a is delighted to be joining Purdue Hillel for the High Holy Days. She was ordained in 2005 by HUC-JIR in New York, and she brings close to 20 years of experience serving Jewish communities, large and small. Ever curious about ideas that make a difference, she earned her BA in philosophy from Pomona College.
In addition to serving as a rabbi, she is a licensed professional counselor (EdS in Counselor Education from the University of SC 2021) and works with individuals, teens, couples, and families at Compass Rose Counseling. She writes about Jewish healing, connection and social justice, including at Reform Judaism. In her free time, she enjoys baking, hiking and attempting the crossword.
