Charitable Gifts to Purdue Hillel are now tax deductible up to $1,000 ($2,000) even when filing with a standard deduction!
Filers should be aware of a provision in the OBBB-Act that begins January 1, 2026. While some families choose to file itemized deductions, the many Americans who utilize the standard deductions on their federal taxes now have a unique opportunity for additional deductions to charitable organizations. Included in the OBBB-Act is an above the line deduction in federal taxes of up to $1,000 ($2,000 for joint returns) for charitable donations starting in 2026.
